Symposium on Deliberative Democracy

From the Fox Rothschild Center for Law and Society:

You are invited to the Fox Rothschild Center for Law and Society's Symposium on Deliberative Democracy on Monday, June 19, from 10 a.m.-2:40 p.m.

In today's society, improving civic engagement is more critical than ever and this symposium features an effective method for engaging individuals on issues of civic concern. By attending the symposium, you will:

Learn about our past uses of the deliberative democracy format to explore marriage, climate change, abortion and public funding of education behind bars.

Hear from Dr. Robert Cavalier of the Carnegie Mellon Center for Deliberative Democracy who initiated the use of the process for Carnegie and the City of Pittsburgh to consider a variety of civic issues. He will also provide the keynote address.

Participate in a mini-deliberative democracy forum on the issue of gentrification.

Help us plan how we can use this process moving into the future with our students and the broader community.

Enjoy a free lunch!

If you can attend please RSVP here, and help us by sharing this event with your friends and community groups.
